Open Technologies was founded with the approval of its constitution from the Social Economy register of the Ministry of Labor. The 5 founding members are equal partners, since the legal form of a cooperative is used.
We spend a period of time settling into issues of management, distribution of work, and answering strategic issues. Initially, we choose to target the sectors of web development, digital marketing and consulting. We shall enter the market with quality services, but also affordable prices.
We make efforts to expand our client base. In 2016, Open Technologies completed more than 50 web design projects. The goal for next year is to improve our services, further penetrate the market by increasing our customer base and provide innovative services that are missing from the local market.
Cooperation with the Decentralized Administration of Attica
We manage for the first time to win in an open bidding competition. The decision to assign a small Website maintenance project is issued by the Decentralized Administration of Attica.
Contract with the Corfu Hospital
The work contract with Corfu Hospital begins. One member-employee of our company works daily for the Hospital.
“Research – Create – Innovate”
In the summer of 2017 we collaborate with the company Knowledge Society and the Museology Laboratory of the Ionian University, to submit a proposal file for an important project to NSRF (Program “Research – Create – Innovate”). The idea was developed within Open Technologies and concerns a project for the connection of culture and tourism through the use of new technologies.
More specifically, More specifically, the project envisages the creation of two digital tools addressed to visitors of some major Greek ports: “City Pass” and a digital guide with proposed “experience routes”. For the exemplary implementation of the project, the utilization of innovative technologies was proposed.

Internship in cooperation with Ionian University
The first student from the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University comes to our offices for an internship. Thus, we are launching an important activity.
We accept the honorary invitation of the Spanish Ministry of Labor to travel to Madrid and present the Open Technologies model as the best practice at a two-day conference on 16 & 17 October entitled: “Opportunities for social economy enterprises in new emerging sectors and digitalization: The European Social Fund as key to change”.
1st Exhibition of S.S.E. in Athens
We participate as exhibitors in the first national exhibition of Social and Solidarity Economy in Gazi, Athens.
At the Exhibition, an important collaboration begins between similar companies throughout Greece that deal with new technologies and open-source software and the first meeting takes place.

Deciding for our participation in the call for applications for funding of actions of the “Support Centers of the Social and Solidarity Economy”.
Social Entrepreneurship Forum
Participation in the Social Entrepreneurship Forum in Athens was convened by the Heinrich Böll Foundation.

Approval of our application for the Support Centers of the Social Solidarity Economy and € 127,000! It is the first approved major project for our company.
The S.S.E. Support Center starts in Corfu

Once again, we have submitted, with great optimism, our proposal file in the program “Research – Create – Innovate” that combines digital technologies, tourism, and culture in one great idea. Now we are waiting!

Our proposal file in the Research – Create – Innovate program was approved. It is our greatest success to date! This project concerns the regions Corfu, Katakolo, and Santorini. Our goal is to highlight the cultural and tourist stock of these destinations through the use of new technologies, creating innovative digital tools for visitors, and managing tourist flows. Change of headquarters address
We rent out our first office in Prosalandou 35-41. There are many memories from the place where we started our business back in 2015. We move our headquarters to Garitsa and maintain our offices near the new port.

REMOTE WORKING: The first discussions concerning our next project
COVID19 and quarantine convinced us that remote working came to stay. We are discussing our next project. Our goal is to support the people who want to live in Corfu and work remotely. To do this, many issues that impede this process must be addressed. Our goal is to create a service like that in Corfu and later expand to other areas with similar characteristics.
